GUARANTEED TRACEABILITY. WE PRODUCE THE BEANS THAT WE HARVEST IN THE FUNDO CRISTINA. THESE ARE SELECTED FROM OUR BEST COCOA TREES WITH DIFFERENTIATING ATTRIBUTES OF AROMA AND FLAVOR. WE HAVE BEEN PRODUCING COCOA FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS AND HAVE MANAGED TO DEVELOP SPECIFIC FERMENTATION METHODS ACCORDING TO EACH VARIETY OF COCOA. THIS ALLOWS US TO OFFER VERY HIGH QUALITY BEANS WITH FINE AROMAS OF DRIED FRUITS, NUTS AND HAZELNUTS AND LIGHT NOTES OF TANGERINE. WE DO NOT USE AGROCHEMICALS. AN EXAMPLE OF THIS IS THE PRESENCE OF NATIVE BEEHIVES THAT WE HAVE RESCUED FROM THE FORESTS AFFECTED BY ILLEGAL LOGGING.
We are a family business that 13 years ago undertook one of our greatest challenges, to travel to the Peruvian Amazon to cultivate its greatest treasure: cocoa. We guarantee traceability from Fundo Cristina where we practice agriculture free of deforestation and without agrochemicals. In 2016 we began to develop cocoa derivatives, perfecting the entire process from selective harvesting and post-harvesting with specific fermentation and drying methods for each variety of cocoa.
Our brand Maaro, comes from the word Maarometi with which the Asháninka people call a tree from which the gods created man. We are inspired by it to evoke the harmonic relationship between man and nature, convinced that it is the main source of quality and excellence in our products.
