THE HISTORY OF OUR COFFEE IS THE HISTORY OF OUR FAMILY. BRAULIO RIVERA BEGAN THIS JOURNEY MORE THAN A CENTURY AGO. IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN THE FERTILE VALLEY OF THE PRESENT COIPA, NORTH OF CAJAMARCA AND PLANTED THE SEEDS OF WHAT WOULD BECOME COIPEÑA.
FRANCISCO, HIS SON WAS BORN AT THE FAMILY COFFEE PLANTATION. AS A LITTLE BOY, HE WORKED IN THE FIELDS WITH HIS FATHER, LOOKING AT AND LEARNING THE SECRETS OF CULTIVATING THE BEST COFFEE. HE SPENT MANY HOURS HELPING TO SOW THE SEEDS AND URGING SMALL PLANTS TO GROW.
SINCE THEN, OUR FAMILY HAS DEDICATED ITSELF TO THIS SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS – FROM OUR COFFEE GROWING ROOTS IN 1920 TO OUR COFFEE ROASTING BUSINESS IN LIMA, FOUNDED IN 1992. TODAY, WE ARE ACT FULFILLING OUR DREAM OF HAVING OUR MODERN COFFEE ROASTING FACILITY JUST BLOCKS FROM OUR ORIGINAL BUILDING.
LIKE OUR PREDECESSORS, WE GREW UP IN THE PLANTATION AND LEARNED ABOUT COFFEE IN THE FIELDS. EVEN TODAY WE PERSONALLY SELECT BEANS, CUP SAMPLES AS THEY ARRIVE AND MONITOR THE COFFEE POT AND PRODUCTION DAILY. WE DO ALL THIS TO GUARANTEE OUR GUESTS AND GUESTS A WONDERFUL CUP OF COFFEE EVERY TIME FROM THE FIRST SIP TO THE FINAL DROP.
