The plantain banana chips (or Chifle), are very thin slices of fried banana and are a typical food of the Piura region, usually consumed as a side or light snack. CAES Piura makes chifles in the district of Montero (Ayacaba), with 100% organic bananas and oil. Banana is a typical product of the region, usually grown on plantations with other crops such as coffee. CAES Piura produces different flavours chifles, depending on the preferences of clients. It could be salty, spicy or seasoned with oregano or garlic. We can pack it for bulk clients in 1,5kg box and also in 50gr bags in retail with the customer branding.
After being harvested, the organic banana will be peeled and cut into very thin slices. Those are next directly immersed into boiling oil. Once fried, are placed on a metal rack to cool and drain the remaining oil. After light salting, they are packed into bags for shipping. In this step we can add spicy and other flavours also produced by CAES Piura. This is a fully artisanal process of production.
