This multi-award-winning artisanal Grappa comes from the Hilbing family's small distillery in the heart of the Mendoza wine region in western Argentina, where more than a century ago, our great-grandparents planted the first Malbec grapes and began our long history of producing wines and distillation. The use of top quality Caberent S. grape pomace in the distillation process gives this grappa unique, notes of elegance, synthesis and persistence, one of a kind.

In 1870 Pablo Loos arrived in Argentina from Germany; together with Dr. Pouget, they founded the first Agricultural School of Mendoza, and installed the first seismograph in the country. Loos studied and recorded the behaviour of the Zonda wind, which is of great importance for fruit and vegetable farmers in the province. In 1790, Juan José Gaspar Hilbing, also from Germany, arrived in Argentina and planted 400 hectares of Malbec, which today is the emblematic varietal. He founded the winery "La Alemana" with a capacity of 15 million litres and redirected the railroad to distribute the wine throughout the country. Then, in 1922, Fritz Wiebe, a master brewer, arrived in Argentina; he was hired by Otto Bemberg to put the Andes Brewery into operation. As a result of the union of these families, Rolando Hilbing was born, the first Master Distiller of Argentina and together with his son Walter, they created Hilbing Franke Distillery.
